Cuba is an island that lies 90miles off South America.

Cuba was an island famous for tobacco and sugar.

It was lead by a corrupt leader called Batista.

Fidel Castro and CHE Guevara led a communist revolution.

J.F.K tried to have castro and Guevara killed in the Bay of Pigs.

Nikita Krushchev was Russia's leader.

He offered to buy sugar and tobacco for Nuclear Missiles on Cuba.

The Russian's tried to build missile sites on Cuba.

The U2 spy planes took pictures of the nuclear sites. 

The Russian's sent missile ships to Cuba carrying nuclear missiles.

At the White House meeting J.F.K decided to launch a nuclear war if the Russians did not back off.

The Russians then turned back and the crisis was over.

Both American and Russian presidents agreed to contact eachother by phones called Hotlines.

In the end in 1963 both Russian and American agreed to a nuclear test ban treaty.
